TERMINOLOGY
Arise – to come up from a lower position to a higher position; to come above the horizon; to come up from one’s bed or place a repose; to mount; to ascend; to rise; to rise as; to arise from a kneeling posture.

Ascend – by derivation the English word implies motion from lower place to (not merely toward) a higher one; and usage tends to restrict it to cases where the beholder is in the lower not the higher position.

Isaiah 60:1 Amplified Bible Classic
ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you–rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

DECLARATION PRAYER FROM ISAIAH 60 (declare daily during the fast):

STAY FREE MINISTRIES, arise, shine; for your light has come! The glory of the Lord has risen upon you! His glory and brilliance will be seen upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

Lift up your eyes round about and see; They all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from afar, and your daughters will be nursed at your side. Then you shall see and become radiant, and your heart shall swell with joy; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.

A multitude of camels shall cover your land, the young camels, including those in other places shall come, and cover you. They shall bring gold and incense, and they shall proclaim the name of the Lord. Flocks shall be gathered together to you, and they shall minister to you. They shall ascend with acceptance on the Lord’s altar, and He will adorn with more glory His glorious temple.

Strangers shall build up your walls, and their kings shall serve you; your gates shall be open continually, they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the nations—with their kings led in procession. The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the cedar together, to adorn God’s sanctuary; and to glorify the place for His feet.

Although you have been forsaken and hated with no one passing through, The Lord your God will make you an eternal glory, a joy of many generations. Nations will provide you with what you need, and kings will take care of you; then you will know that the Lord is your Savior and Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

For brass, He will bring gold, and for iron, He will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron. He will make peace your governor and well-being your ruler. The Lord shall be unto you an everlasting light, and He shall be your glory. All of your people shall be uncompromisingly and consistently righteous. They shall possess the land forever. They shall be the branch of His planting, the work of His hands, that God may be glorified. Amen!
